If you have a Netgear DG834v1 router and don’t know its username, password or IP address to access its configuration webpages then follow the steps below to perform a “hard reset” back to the factory defaults:

1. Unplug all cables from the router leaving only the power cable remaining.

2. Find a paper clip or small point and locate the “Default Reset” button on the rear panel of the router.

3. While the router is switched on insert the paperclip or small point into the “Default Reset” hole on the back of the router.

4. Push and hold the paperclip or point for at least 10 seconds until the “test” LED (In the shape of a tick) turns on.

5. Release the Default Reset button and wait another 10 seconds for the router to reboot.

6. Once the router has rebooted connect the RJ11 ADSL cable and RJ45 LAN cable(s) to the LAN sockets on the rear of the router.

7. On a computer connected to the router navigate to your web browser and type in the address bar the default IP address of and press the “enter” key.
